Since we are on DAY FIVE!!!! of being stuck in the house due to icy roads and snow, we are running out of ideas to keep busy. Libbi and I have played every game known to man. We've painted, we've colored, we've chased each other, we've read books, done puzzles, played babies, you name it; we've played it.
And, for the record, this is as close as we've gotten to the snow since our first "traumatic" experience. - ha!
Libbi loves to look at it through the window, but if you ask if she wants to go outside, she will give an emphatic, "Noooooooooo!" :)

Yesterday, out of sheer desperation, we decided to add one more thing into the mix: baking!
(*Side note....I know I stated previously in my pregnancy updates that I had not gained any weight. Believe me, after being trapped in the house for almost a solid week, that statement will no longer hold true*)
Libbi really showed off her culinary skills. Paula Deen would have been.....proud? (scared? appalled?)
Now that she has her own set of dishes and utensils, she wants to use them for everything. She tries her hardest to put any and all "real food" on her play dishes. Yesterday she tried to eat her breakfast with a plastic spatula. Today, she was trying to eat Doritos (off a play dish) with a (play) spoon. (don't judge, remember we've been stranded for days - you'd feed your toddler Doritos, too!) Needless to say she wasn't very successful.
She's also discovered that she likes to mix and match her own ingredients: Instead of sticks of butter like Paula recommends, Libbi has her own idea of a "secret ingredient" Who wouldn't love Doritos with a side of refried beans?!
And Libbi is ever the attentive cook...
She scoured her "cookbooks" for the perfect recipe...
and finally found the perfect one for....
Baked (not fried, sorry Paula!) Elmo - a true southern delicacy :)
Our girl has a real future in the kitchen. She is definitely going to make some lucky guy very happy one day (far, far from now!)
After she baked a little, she decided to take a break and drink some juice. Juice boxes are a real treat in our house, so whenever Libbi gets one, she takes it very seriously.
UNLESS....she's doing her favorite poses for the camera (watch out, world!)
(my personal favorite)
Finally, she wrapped up her cooking session the way any good chef would.....
by knocking back a few more drinks!
Bottoms Up!
Now, wouldn't Paula be proud, y'all?!? ;)
