i guess i have been in a bit of a "nesting" mode lately, but instead of cleaning, i've been doing "projects" - ha! there's not much i feel like i can complete before the baby is here (as far as decorating and boy/girl preparations) so i have been channelling that energy(?) stress(?) elsewhere.
we had a digital silhouette made of libbi at christmastime. we gave one to the grandparents and also ordered one for ourselves. when it came time to frame it, i wasn't really sure what i wanted to do. i really liked this one that i saw in the pottery barn catalog, but thought i could make my own version for cheaper.
(plus, i could only find pictures of it, never a way to order it! so please forgive my poor quality "screen shot" from pbkids.com)
i had some ribbon leftover from when we decorated libbi's nursery so i just used that to "mat" the picture and it turned out pretty good! it's not perfect, but it looks sweet hanging in her nursery. :)
(btw, a friend of mine from high school did the digital silhouette for us and she is AWESOME!! you can check out her facebook business page for info. you do not have to be local! all i had to do was email her a profile shot of libbi and she did the rest and shipped the pictures and proofs to me when she was done...for a VERY reasonable price!!)

another little "project" has been deciding what to do with all of libbi's artwork that she brings home from school. i don't want to be one of those mom's that saves every last scrap of paper that she touches, but i do want to save some of the sweet little pieces of "art" that she is making. i bought a pack of four frames from the clearance bin at target (for $9)!! i had some coordinating scrapbook paper at home and i mounted it in the frames and put some of her artwork in them to display in her playroom. i figured i can just switch things out every few weeks or so or maybe even each holiday....now as far as what i'll do with all of these things once they've been moved out of rotation, i'm still not sure! :) i'm open to any and all suggestions!

my biggest "project" of all is the future nursery. i LOVE all things baby and i could literally spend hours just searching for bedding, decorative items, and baby clothes online. i have a "boy file" and a "girl file" that i keep up with so when the time comes (aka .02 seconds after we hear, "it's a....!") i will be ready to click "order!!" :)
this is the crib we're looking at (girl or boy)

now, onto the girl bedding....this was an easy one!
(thanks, lauren for recommending babybedding.com)
i love that it's "girly" but still so different from the pink and brown that we did in libbi's room. plus, i think the little lovebirds are so sweet.
here is a closer shot of all the fabric combinations:
i have another VERY talented friend (and artist) that would make me a print similar to this one but a little more personalized to what i would like (i.e - coordinates with our bedding/color scheme/name, etc.) it would also be minus the butterflies.... and the birds would be more along the lines of the "lovebirds" in the fabric.....
print found here
plus, with the basic colors of pink, aqua, and taupe - i feel like i can come across coordinating decorative items pretty easily.
so....that's where i'm at right now with girl bedding "project".....
i'll post my boy faves tomorrow...they're a little harder for me to decide on. :)
