Precious Laney James, you are one month old today!! On one hand I can't believe that a month has already passed since you joined our family, but on the other hand, I can't believe it's only been one month - it feels like you've been with us forever!
Here is a little bit about you on your first month of life:
You weigh 11.8 pounds and you are 22.5 inches long. You are definitely a growing girl!! You wear size one diapers (you wore the NB size for the first three days of your life and then you outgrew them) and most of your clothes are 3mos. The other day I put you in a romper that was a 3-6 month... and it fit! I was secretly hoping that it had just been mis-sized, because I am not ready for you to be that big just yet.
You are a great eater (obviously) and you nurse every two-three hours. You had your first bottle today, but didn't really love it. We're going to keep practicing though, because Momma would like to be able to go on a date with Daddy that lasts more than 1.5-2 hours before we have to rush home. :)
You are still sleeping a lot, but you are starting to be awake during the day more and more. You have slept some good four hour stretches at night, but then there have also been nights when you are up every 1.5 hours (I'm guessing it was a growth spurt). For the most part, you wake up to eat and for a diaper change and then go right back to sleep.
You sleep in a bassinet in our room at night and during the day, you sleep a little bit of everywhere. You are not too fond of your bouncy seat, but you do like your swing (thank you, Jesus!) so you will nap in there for a while during the day. I guess I better get a move on when it comes to finishing up (or starting) your nursery considering you don't even have a mattress in your crib yet. Oh well, I'm in no hurry to move you out of our room. :)
Your claim to fame this month has been the amount of diapers that you have gone through - ha! Seriously, it has to be some sort of record. Lucky for you, you're pretty cute. ;-) (and we got lots of diapers at your baby shower- thank you friends and family!!)
Your sister loves you more than anything and constantly wants to hold you. You'll learn to love her, too....and how to defend yourself :) I can't wait for the day that y'all can play together. Libbi calls you "Lay-Lay" and your Daddy and I find ourselves calling you that, too. We can't help it - it's kind of cute. :)
Laney Love, you are the sweetest thing and we just love you to pieces!! From your pouty lips to your dimpled little thighs, you are just the perfect little baby. We're so thankful that the Lord blessed us with you one month ago. We can't wait to see how you grow and change - but do me a favor, and don't grow too fast, mmmk?
