last night, we welcomed my newest niece, mattie kate johnson into the world!
i am so thrilled for my brother and sister in law. their oldest daughter, blakeley will be the best big sister. i'm excited that they'll get to experience the joy of having two girls. there's nothing better than watching your children grow from siblings into friends.
{please ignore the rockin' ducktail laney's sporting... she's working hard on growing it out.} |
we stopped by the hospital before baby mattie made her big entrance but (not surprisingly) my two girls were not exactly what you would call, "patient."
they played for a bit while my mom and dad went back to see mandie and justin, then we switched and i went back while my parents watched the girls in the waiting room. poor libbi was convinced that "auntie mannie" had already had baby mattie and we were all taking turns holding her in some secret room. haha! which made leaving without seeing a baby pretty difficult for her. however, it was nothing that a little surgical mask couldn't fix.
it was strange being in the hospital where i delivered both of my girls. the last time we were all there was when laney james was born. crazy how much can change in just a little over a year! we are so blessed to have girls close in age that can grow up together and have the best time. in fact, tonight we're having a "jammie party" (as libbi calls it) with blakeley while her momma and daddy and baby sister are still in the hospital. libbi is just beside herself with excitement. she's also pretty sure we're going to be eating marshmallows(?) so i hope she's not too disappointed when we don't. -ha! :)
{we were sitting in the parking lot while taking these} |
{she kept saying, "i can't talk with this mask on!!!" and i'd say, "you're talking just fine right now." and she's say again, "but i can't talk with this mask on!!!" all while wearing the mask - ha!} |
we love mattie kate already and i know two little girls (and one big girl! ;-)) that are SO excited to hold her!!!
